Sage Theatre is pleased to accept submissions from emerging artists in all disciplines for their fifth annual IGNITE! : Calgary's Festival for Emerging Artists.

WHAT IS IGNITE?
* IGNITE! is an annual multidisciplinary arts festival that features brand-new plays, dance, visual art, music and multidisciplinary endeavors, all created by emerging artists.
* IGNITE! '09, our fifth anniversary festival, will run June 11-13 at the Pumphouse Theatres.
* We are a process-based festival, which means that our focus is on providing learning opportunities through hands-on creation and professional mentorship.

WHAT DO WE MEAN BY "EMERGING"?
For the purposes of IGNITE!, we consider you an emerging artist if:
* You're in the early stages of your career and looking for professional development and exposure.
* You are working towards becoming a full-time professional artist.
* You're not part of a professional union.

EVERY APPLICATION MUST INCLUDE:
* A completed application form (download it here) including contact information (name, address, phone number, and email).
* If you're applying with a proposed team, please include an application form for each team member, and specify who the main contact will be.

WHAT ELSE SHOULD I KNOW?
* There is no application fee, and no limit to the number of submissions any individual can make.
* Email submissions will not be accepted.
* Applications must be postmarked by Friday, December 12th, 2008.
